Midway through April, the Chester Romans announced that, due to uncertainties following the cancelled 2020 British American Football Association season due to the global Covid-19 pandemic and the availability of a 4g surface field, we would be relocating our home ground to Ellesmere Port Church of England College.
However, this move immediately prompted conversations with the committee and management of our previous home venue, the Cheshire County Sports Club (CCSC), who were looking to secure American football in Chester for the long-term.
As part of these conversations, CCSC proposed the use of their new, state-of-the-art 4g field, along with the use of the pavilion for both our team and our supporters. With this in mind, and with the Chester Romans committee always seeking to improve the experience for all involved both directly and indirectly with the club, the Romans are delighted to have signed a 3-year contract to relocate back to CCSC and continue our long-standing partnership.
We’d like to take the opportunity to thank all at EDU Lettings and Ellesmere Port C of E College for their support during the last two months.
Further thanks go to the members of the committees of both CCSC and the Romans that helped to formulate this deal that sees American football showcased in Chester for the foreseeable future.
We will soon be bringing you details of our home youth and junior fixtures, whilst adult team fixtures have already been set for 2021. The Romans look forward to welcoming you to CCSC later this year!
